Dr. Ryan Helgerson, DMD, is the owner of Bookcliff Family Dental and finds joy in providing the highest level of comprehensive care to his patients in Grand Junction and the surrounding areas.

Stephanie
Dental Hygienist
Stephanie has been a hygienist since 1993 and has been practicing in Colorado since 2003. She takes pride in helping her patients achieve good oral health while swapping stories about everyday life. She grew up in Nevada where she raised her two boys, but loves being a resident of the Grand Valley. Outside of the office, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, camping and mountain biking. She also loves to hike, read and spend time with her two amazing granddaughters.
Abby
Dental Hygienist
Growing up, Abby would come out to Western Colorado with her family for vacation every year and fell in love with the area. She received her degree in dental hygiene from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and moved here shortly after graduation. In addition to being a dental hygienist, Abby is a certified myofunctional therapist. When she's not at work, she’s probably a few miles into a hike somewhere with her friends, or in the kitchen experimenting with a new recipe.
Malikah
Dental Assistant
Malikah has been a dental assistant for over 8 years and loves helping patients feel comfortable at the dentist. She grew up in Utah with four awesome sisters and is super close with her family. In her free time she loves to camp, go to concerts, and try new food. She also enjoys going back to Utah to see her family and catch up.
Regina
Dental Assistant
Regina has been a dental assistant for over 17 years and loves helping patients achieve the smile of their dreams. She was born in Utah, but considers Grand Junction her home. She has two sons and welcomed a grand baby last year that she loves to see. In her free time she loves to work out, read and do anything outdoors.
Robin
Scheduling Coordinator and Insurance Specialist
Robin loves welcoming new people to our office! She has worked for over 20 years in management and customer service. To her, it is important that patients feel comfortable and safe in our office. She believes smiles are contagious and loves helping to spread those smiles! Robin is a Colorado native who moved to the Western Slope 16 years ago. She is married with three children and five grandchildren. She loves spending time with her family and cheering on the Denver Broncos!
Melanie
Dental Hygienist
Melanie is a Colorado native, who has called Fruita her home for the last 17 years. She has 22 years of dental experience, as she was a dental assistant before going to hygiene school. Melanie loves educating her patients and making sure that they are comfortable throughout their care. She is married with two kids and loves watching her kids play sports. She enjoys camping, gardening, hiking and just about anything outdoors with her family.
Ana
Patient Care Coordinator
Ana grew up in Phoenix, AZ and relocated to Grand Junction in 2019. She loves being able to help patients with their needs. In her free time she enjoys cooking, being outdoors and going on road trips.
Henry
Henry is Doctor Ryan’s sweet pup that visits the office sometimes. He loves our patients as much as they love him.
I had the best experience with having my teeth cleaned. The staff is very nice, professional and helpful. Stephanie cleaned my teeth and took X-rays and I swear this is the first time I haven’t felt any extreme pain or discomfort throughout the entire time I was there. Seriously I’m a guy who avoids Dentists like no one’s business but they truly are top-notch! Dr. Ryan is also amazing and I’ll be back soon for another cleaning even though I’m moving outta state. That’s how amazing my experience has been with this company!

My 2 and 5-year-old girls had their teeth cleaned and had a wonderful experience. My 5-year-old said it was her best time yet at the dentist. It was the first dental visit for my 2-year-old and not only was it tear-free but she opened her mouth when asked and was able to have her teeth flossed and brushed. Fantastic dental hygienists - gentle and kind with my girls and Dr. Ryan was great with my girls too.
